The making of diapers
Diapers are put together in factories in a intense process. It ends up having the padding(or water absorbing part) being sealed between the two non-woven outer shells. The three layers go as followed: Water permeable layer , Hydrophilic padding layer, and a Non-permeable layer(the outer layer). The layers are put together from heat or ultrasonic vibrations which creates heat and kills bacteria.
The absorbent layer:
The absorbent layer is made by using the polymer polyacrylate and a fibrous material like cotton or wood pulp. This is then air sealed together to make one convenient absorbent layer for the diaper.
Putting it together: In Some cases Ultrasonic vibrations are used these vibrations create friction causing heat and movement of the non woven materials allowing it to join together. Glue and other sources of heat may be used also to join the diapers together. Once the diapers layers are sealed together the diapers is cut to shape, and accessories like elastic bands are added for the waist and legs, and the Velcro, or tape materials.
Diapers may also be treated with lotions and scents, and may have child appealing pictures printed on them.
